Title: How frequently is mail withheld after customs seizure?
Post by: Pyryn on December 05, 2011, 05:55 pm
And, out of curiosity, does that mean there is absolutely planned prosecution afterwards?

We can speculate on this but there isn't any way to know.

We can mostly presume that small amounts aren't worth spending much time on. Merely having mail addressed to you with illegal contents is not illegal so, in order to prosecute they will have to deliver it to you in a way that they can, at a minimum, prosecute your for possession. The effort can't be worth it for smaller personal amounts.

I'm not sure on your exact situation but I've had Border Protection hold apackage for me for 3 months and then sent it to me anyway. No issues since.

If a package gets seized it doesn't mean guaranteed prosecution. But it does mean all other packages going to that address will get a closer look in the future. Also you may or may not get a customs letter they stopped sending them when people started using them as proof for reships from vendors of various things.

Real chances of interception are much lower than you would think. 90% of the 'didnt arrive' feedback come from scammer buyers. And maybe a few actually have to do with scam sellers.

I had a wave of those scammer kids buying from me and suddenly it looked like nothing arrived. I managed to shake them off and suddenly everything arrives. Conclusion is obvious, if you are a normal buyer, you can get anything through the mail as long as the seller takes decent precautions.

I sent 1000+ envelopes, trust me.  ; )
